The Galaxy Electric-Los Angeles Strikes Back
Today i'm gonna introduce you to a new band from Los Angeles The Galaxy Electric.
Their Music can be described as a mixture of psychedelic pop,Giallo Films, the 60's and haunted areas of the mind.
Here's a small interview

1.What influenced you to create that kind of music?
We surround ourselves with sights and sounds that inspire and
challenge us. Like the Radiophonic Workshop, Al Jarnow films, Global
Psych bands from the 60s and 70s, and musique concrete. Augustus has
always been enamored with analog synthesizers, tape effects and spring
reverbs, which really informs our sound and recording techniques. All
four of us studied music at university, which afforded the opportunity
to explore experimental sounds and rhythms.
2.what is your place among the world and the people in music business?
We've all been making music in bands for many years. In 2012, a group
of us started an artist collective/record label, called Gazelle
Recordings, to collaboratively release our music, and other projects
to the world. We do everything together, from production to music
videos to album art and live show production. We have been putting on
showcases in LA for a few years now, but we're all starting to spread
out around the globe, so it's a malleable process.
3.are you gonna record a full length album in the near future?
We have been collecting songs for a full length and plan to release an
album in the spring of next year. Hopefully on vinyl.
4.what is the usual process of composing your songs?
We (Augustus and Jacqueline), are always collaborating on
compositions. Sometimes it starts with a beat from Susan, or a bass
line from Gus, or Jacqueline comes to the group with a fully written
song with just keys and vocals and everyone else fills in the gaps and
takes it to another level. Grayson always seems to add something that
we didn't know the song needed with his vibraphone and effects rig.
5.your music could be described as a mixture of psychedelic pop, giallo
films, the 60's and haunted areas of the mind,is this how you feel
about your music?
That's pretty much exactly how we feel about our music. We're really
glad that comes across.
6.Tell us 10 albums you love the most
Rod Freeman & The Blue Men - "I Hear A New World (An Outer Space
Fantasy by Joe Meek)"
White Noise - "An Electric Storm"
Silver Apples - "Silver Apples"
Morton Subotnik - "Silver Apples of the Moon/The Wild Bull"
Serge Gainsbourg - "Gainsbourg Percussions"
Honey LTD - "The Complete LHI Recordings"
Broadcast - "Work and Non Work"
Belbury Poly - "The Belbury Tales"
Os Mutantes - "Os Mutantes"
Francis Bebey - "African Electronic Music 1975-1982"
7.please share a few things about yourselves to our readers,is there a
secret behind the galaxy electric name?
Our name reflects our fascination with The Atomic Age and early
experiments in electronic music creation - ie Delia Derbyshire, Daphne
Oram, and even Suzanne Ciani.
The way the four of us came together to form this band is cosmically
absurd and magical. So it seems fitting. We (Augustus and Jacqueline)
were touring in another band and happened to open for a band that
Susan was playing drums in at a hole in the wall in Eugene, OR. When
that band disintegrated and we (Gus and Jax) began forming this new
project, we immediately thought of Susan. When we reached out to her
years later, she came down to LA with her boyfriend, Grayson, whom we
had never met, and somehow it all just made sense. We started
recording the first half of the album the day after meeting.

Love them and embrace them, the songs are thrilling good.
Let's hope for an album soon.

Orgone Box-Centaur
I'm gonna introduce you today to a new label under the name of Active Listener Records.
Nathan Ford is the Guy who is behind the famous blog about psychedelia The Active Listener.
He decided to start his own label releasing the things he loved and oh boy! the records so far are mindblowing.,
Orgone box is one of his releases and man you gotta believe me it's what we say beatlesque psychedelia and early 60's psych pop stuff, mainly the byrds will come to your mind and the beatles.
You know we always say what the beatles had done in music cannot happen again and that to a certain point is true, but what can you do from the time they influenced everyone in modern pop and rock n roll music?
Orgone Box here swim to deep waters but believe me they surface and their ship is strong driving you to new lands and clouds.
The songs are strongs, they have quality, they have the melodies, the cool and jangly guitars and the vocals are almost perfect to the biggest part of the record and they have pathways that only a psychedelic mind can take you there.
It's what we say the perfect record to listen on a sunday morning if you're into for some psychedelic melodic pop.
I am amazed, really i am because i loved this record since the firts time i listened to it.
Congrats to Nathan for releasing this stuff and to orgone box for being such a good melody maker.
You listen and Buy digitally the record from Bandcamp Below.
Cheers.

Tara King Th.-Hirondelle and Berreta-Album Review
For Those who are into Broadcast and Modern Psychedelic Pop then they should take a listen to this.
Tara King Th. are from France and they're keeping the tradition of the Dark Side Of The Mushroom.
Ok that was a Weird Expression.
The key here is that the album is a Soundtrack to an Imaginary Fiction/Noir Film.
With the likes of John Barry,Ennio Morricone,Bruno Nicolai,Serge Gainsbourg and Broadcast,Tara King Th. manage to build a bunch of songs that will take and trap your mind into a maze of Psychedelic Patterns with only purpose to build and reveal the mystery like a professional chanson maneuver.
You can easily say that they're heavily Influenced by Giallo Films of the 70's and that's not bad at all,we don't hear these kind of albums so much in our days and i believe that this is a good thing cause since Trish Keenan Died only a few bands kept the tradition and keep making this Psychedelic/Haunting/Pop music that you get so rare to listen.
Thank you for that.
One of the best records of the year in the psychedelic pop era.
I will say no more, listen to it and buy it below.
